BiographyIn 1622, clockmaker George Smith was working with two apprentices (probably John and Paul Jacob.) He entered the Clockmakers' Company in 1632, the year afterits founding. In 1637, he took Joseph Quasj as an apprentice. His apprentice O.Durant was freed in May 1646. His signature reads: " George Smith / Fecit."
