Martin Carlin(German, ca. 1730–1785)

Of German origin, Carlin was in Paris by 1759 and entered the guild of menuisiers-ébénistes in 1766. Working mainly through the marchands-merciers, he supplied pieces for such notables as Madame Du Barry and the daughters of Louis XV. Carlin is known primarily for small, refined furniture mounted with Sèvres porcelain.
