Gian Girolamo Grandi(Italian, 1508–1560)

The Grandi family workshop began production in Padua during the lifetime of Riccio, who was a major influence on their sculpture. With his uncle Vincenzo, Gian Girolamo also undertook commissions in Trent; among works made there by the Grandi between 1532 and 1542 were a portal and chimneypiece for the Castello di Buonconsiglio and a cantoria for S. Maria Maggiore. After returning to Padua, they executed decorative marble reliefs for the Cappella del Santo in S. Antonio and various funerary monuments.
