Elhanan Bicknell, bought from the artist in 1844. Bicknell sale, April 25, 1863, Christie’s, Lot 97, sold for £2,635 10s to Agnew for John Heugh. Bought back by Agnew in August, 1864, and sold in November to John Graham, Skelmorlie Castle, Ayrshire. His sale, April 30, 1887, Christie’s, Lot 92, sold for £6,825 to Agnew. Sold May 2, 1887, for £7,507 10s to F.B. Henson. Bought by Agnew from Mrs. Guthrie, London, 1900. Knoedler. Frick, 1901.
